Oil is often the second ingredient in shelf-stable oat drinks, used to mimic that rich and creamy texture you’d find in dairy milk.
Problem is, we don’t want to drink oil.
We’ve managed to make our oat mylk ultra creamy by using tigernuts, which are a part of the tuber family (not actual nuts, fear not allergy-sufferers!). Tigernuts have been used as an alt-mylk base in Spain and Central America for centuries, thanks to the fact that they create a creamy and sweet milk, perfect for horchatas and other coffee drinks.
By using them as a secondary ingredient in our oat mylk, we’re able to mitigate their flavor, resulting in a velvety smooth mylk perfect for coffee, cooking, and even baking. Plus they’re a nutrient dense SUPERfood. Hence “Super Oat Mylk.”
